Moodle and The Student Portal

Lancaster University uses a virtual learning environment called MOODLE. Here you can access all the information about the modules you are registered to study, from lecture notes to assignments, when and where your lectures are taking place and discussion forums.

From the Student Portal you can access Moodle as well as other resources. Through the student portal you can check your timetable, sign up to seminars at the start of the year, look at your interactive transcript and self-certificate if you are unable to attend seminars.

There is a section for each week of the course. Here you will find essential reading, lecture slides and further resources.

Essential information on contact hours, staff, assessment proportions and hand-in dates

Some lectures may be focused on a film. These are made available at a timetabled screening, via YouTube, or can be loaned from the library.

Lecturers add a short description on the lecture content.

There is a reading list for the Part I modules but often lecturers upload a PDF version of the relevant text for students to read before the lecture.

Lecture slides are uploaded onto Moodle just before a lecture takes place.
