Contact with the Department

The first year at university will be full of challenges: living in student residences, getting used to the university system and new ways of studying, learning and being assessed. We know that at times this will be a struggle and as a department we want to do the best we can to help you – but you must keep us informed. If we are not able to solve the problem – we may often be able to point you towards someone who can.

How the Department Communicates with You

EMAIL

When you register with the University you are given a Lancaster IT account. This comes with a @lancaster.ac.uk email address. The Department and University will always use this email address to contact you and to send you any official correspondence. Check it regularly.

MOODLE

MOODLE has an English Literature & Creative Writing Undergraduate space where notices are posted out to students. Each module has a Moodle space and module specific announcements are made here.

iLancaster

If you have a smart phone or tablet download the iLancaster app. The app gives you access to Moodle on the go, the latest information on your timetable and general information such as campus maps and bus times. You will also use iLancaster to sign in at teaching sessions.

FACEBOOK

Every year the Department sets up an English Literature and Creative Writing Part I Facebook Group. This is for informal communications between the Department and Part I students and allows students to meet and communicative with one another.

REPS

We elect three student Student Reps every year. Student reps are there to gather feedback from fellow students on a range of different issues. The student reps come along to termly Staff/Student committees as well as  committees which decide practices and policies the departments may implement or change.
